What We Inspect
Barrier Structure
- Fence height and structural integrity
- Gap sizes between fence rails and posts
- Footing and ground clearance
- Climbable objects within the non-climbable zone
Gates & Latches
- Self-closing mechanism on all gates
- Self-latching mechanism and latch height
- Gate swing direction (must open away from pool)
- Gate gap clearances
Non-Climbable Zone (NCZ)
- 900mm NCZ on the outside of the barrier
- Furniture, equipment and structures within NCZ
- Trees and vegetation that could aid climbing
Signage & Documentation
- CPR sign displayed at poolside
- Pool registration with NSW Swimming Pool Register
